The design and fabrication process undertook to develop a design and system of furniture that was thoughtful and flexible enough to be applied to a series of elementary schools across Lebanon. The intent was to create an innovative intervention system that encourages interactivity, comfort, and enjoyment by children within a library function. A set of modular shelving components was developed with a focus on the body scale and interests of young children both in terms of finding and accessing printed material, but also their ability to occupy the space in a variety of postures for reading and play.
