The piece was designed as a celebration of sensuality and fetish and carries with it two readings, the first involving a 2-dimensional understanding of a distorted grid. The second reading happens at an intimate distance where one is tempted to run their hand along the surface, feeling the seams between units as well as the unity of the resultant carved surface. A unity which is easily disrupted as one begins opening various compartments, pulling them out of continuity with those next to them.
