Description
With a renewed period of hyper-inflation, modern Lebanese currency notes have experienced the same deppreciation as older versions of the currency. The Banknote Boxes series focuses on the aesthetic qualities of the etched illustrations of old currency from Lebanon and the Levant. The designs are carved into the tops of Beech wood lids for general utility boxes, An inverted design is carved on the bottom side of the lid, which can be used to block-print one's own form of the currency...now anyone can be a central bank.
