Series: Cocoon

The Hive Lamp is a multifunctional unit that can be used for ambient or task lighting depending on how it is hung. The inspiration for the design came about partly through experiments in drum fabrication using plywood. In order to create the shell, plywood rings are cut, chamfered, and stacked. Polycarbonate is added as the diffuser; slotting into the bottom layer.

Born from a love of mid-century aesthetics, the Tusk chairs flaunt sensuous arms, contrasting legs, and modest yet comfortable upholstery. Made from Iroko wood, the design emphasizes bold arms that vary in cross-section along their length. The frame detailing and joinery is kept minimalistic and seating angles are designed to maximize comfort while staying well proportioned.

Series: Wall Tears

Wall Tears is a modular lighting installation that plays with the sconce lighting element, but in an arrangement where they are read as a field of objects. Wall Tears is the first of an ongoing series of perforated plaster modules capable of being wall-mounted as a single piece or in multiples. The lighting effect is achieved by the use of LED components illuminating the wall surface and bouncing the light back onto the plaster.

Series: Remainder

The design starts from the attributes of OSB, a directionless board material composed of what has remained from other wood products. From here the concept of “what remains” is used as a departure point. The object itself resembles the skeleton of a sea creature, its original form gone, but now illuminated from within. The light fixture is minimized to simply include the end connecters of the bulb, a thin LED rod. 1st place winner of the FARRA design SWAP competition.

Series: Dervish

The Dervish Lamp is named after the Sufi whirling dervishes based on the resemblance to the form held by the dancer. The light is the combination of a repeating triangle-based element forming the cone, a carved solid-wood stem, and a polycarbonate diffuser. Despite the size of the fixture, it can be disassembled and stored efficiently. Available in various finish colors and veneers.

Series: Side Table

Harmonic Table take the base of the Amoeba design and overlay a 12-pointed star pattern. Using Walnut and Sadaf for the star the design is based on a mathematical harmonic growth pattern. The star pattern produced is then distorted, causing one side to diminish in size so that the sadaf and walnut elements approach near invisibility. The asymmetry is balanced once the two are placed in an overlapped configuration.

Designed from the inspiration of a thin slab of wood intersected by lathed legs using wedged locking pins, the Slender desk celebrates minimalism through it’s joinery and detailing.

Series: Cocoon

The Bulb Lamp is a brighter version of its sister lamp (Hive) which plays off the form of the “bulb” both in nature and as the incandescent fixture. Manufactured through the stacking of chamfered plywood layers in addition to a large polycarbonate diffuser, the Bulb Lamp functions best for lighting large areas of the home.

Series: Center Table

The Shrug Table takes its name from the raised design of the leg joint detail. A play on fluid form wthin a rectangular form, the piece reveals it's joinery while featuring elegant curvalinear legs and carved table top corners.

Series: Onion

The Oblong is an elongated form in the Onion lamp series that was born out of a desire to reflect light off of wood veneer. Based on the flexibility of certain plywood, an overlapping skin is produced which emits a gradient of light intensity from one side to the other with respect to the viewer. The Oblong Lamp is best suited for spaces with high ceilings as a unique ambient light source. Available in various finish colors and veneers.

Series: Mancala

Mancala Cutting Boards are our version of everyday kitchen cutting boards but with a twist inspired by the famous African board game (Mancala) with its carved pockets. In this way each cutting board can be used on one side to cut and prepare food and then the flip side for serving with salt, pepper and garnishing contained in the carved areas. Available in a set of three or separately.

For those who drink matte, few trays are practical enough to hold all the necessary ingredients. Though it can also be used for drinking a variety of teas, the Matte Tray was inspired by the ritual of the matte drinker. A solid piece of beech wood is sculpted to elegantly provide space for a sugar container, tea container, teapot, spoon holders, and cup area. Sugar and tea containers are carved from Walnut.

Designed as a simple low-back chair with mid-century modern referents through its joinery and shaping, the Coy chair is a simple and elegant seat that can be used with a dining set or stand alone.
