Remainder
Series: Remainder
The design starts from the attributes of OSB, a directionless board material composed of what has remained from other wood products. From here the concept of “what remains” is used as a departure point. The object itself resembles the skeleton of a sea creature, its original form gone, but now illuminated from within. The light fixture is minimized to simply include the end connecters of the bulb, a thin LED rod. 1st place winner of the FARRA design SWAP competition.

Warped Bar
Series: Curiosity
The Warped Bar is a console version of its sister (Curiosity Chest). The series references the classic curiosity cabinets of yore, but with an obsessive compulsive update involving 29 uniquely shaped push-open drawers. The piece was designed as a celebration of sensuality and fetish and carries with it two readings, the first involving a 2-dimensional understanding of a distorted grid. The second reading happens at an intimate distance where one is tempted to run their hand along the surface, feeling the seams between units as well as the unity of the resultant carved surface. A unity which is easily disrupted as one begins opening various compartments, pulling them out of continuity with those next to them.
